Do I need winter sports cover for skiing or snowboarding?
If you are planning to ski, snowboard or take part in any winter sports activities, you should choose to have winter sports included on your policy. The standard travel insurance doesn't automatically cover winter sports, so check that the correct winter sports product has been selected before you travel.
What winter sports activities can be covered?
Winter sports cover can include skiing and snowboarding, including off-piste skiing and snowboarding where this is allowed and not considered unsafe by the resort.
If you are going off-piste, you need to follow resort rules and local guide or instructor advice.
Where off-piste activity is only allowed with a guide, then the guide’s advice must be strictly followed.
Does ski insurance cover ski equipment and lift passes?
InsureandGo's winter sports cover includes protection for skis, ski equipment and ski passes, depending on your policy and cover limits. There is also cover available for damage, loss or theft of owned or hired skis and ski equipment. Limits and conditions apply, including age-based limits for owned ski equipment.
Am I covered if I can't ski during my trip?
You may be covered if you are certified by a qualified medical practitioner at the ski resort as unable to ski because of injury or sudden, unforeseen illness during your trip. The policy wording refers to a proportionate refund for unused ski-pack charges, up to the limit shown in your schedule of cover.
